How To Clean The Fan Lenovo Yoga 2 13
A fan in my sons 2yr old Lenovo Yoga two Pro was making very loud grinding noises. We dissembled to check for dust and clogged vents but no die, sounded similar the bearings were going out. Next stride was to supervene upon the fan and we didn't want to spend a dime on this out of warranty (many problems since twenty-four hours 1) laptop and so it'south time for some DIY!

Tools needed
- Torx 5 screwdriver
- Small phillips head screwdriver
Replacement Fans – $eight.95 each
- Right side – Yoga 2 Pro Cooling Fan AT0S9001SS0 SUNON EG45040S1-C030
-S9A - Left side – Yoga 2 Pro Cooling Fan AT0S9001SS0 SUNON EG45040S1-C020

Steps to supercede one or both fans
- Plow laptop upside down – identify lid on towel to prevent scratching
- Remove all 138 Torx screws that concord the bottom shell in place
- Remove lesser crush – showtime in a corner and pry, the lid snaps on in places
— - Disconnect the battery from the motherboard – far right ribbon with large connector
- Remove the flexible PCB ribbon – horizontal ribbon at top left of motherboard
- Exercise not – disconnect the blueish ribbons (y'all tin can but tricky to reconnect)
— - Disconnect the fan cable – use the blade of a small-scale flathead spiral commuter
- Remove the 2 pocket-size phillips screws that hold the fan in place
- Remove the mover board screw at the summit left corner of the lath
— - Gently title dorsum the motherboard until y'all can hands remove the fan
- Remove tape that holds fan grille to fan body
- Remove Fan
— - Add new fan – re-utilise fan grille tape
- Return Motherboard to resting position
- Replace all screws
- Reconnect all ribbons and plugs
- Test fan by turning on laptop before replacing lid – confirm information technology spins
- Shutdown total and supercede hat
- Ability up and exercise something CPU intensive such every bit Google world
- If all went well it's – Fan time!!
Here's all you need – Fan, Torx five screwdriver and a small phillips screwdriver.
